Two huge days to report on... HUGE.

Firstly, Independence Day. Finally! An opportunity to let my Americanness out in full-force with a bunch of other young, drunk, eager Americans. BUNAC held a 4th of July cruise for us on the River Thames which slightly reminded me of the NU Senior Week Booze Cruise on the Charles River... but not nearly as crazy/emotional :) All in all a good time with dancing and singing and the whole nine yards with my new friends. Walking down the pier to the ship, I spotted someone I went to high school with who is also living in London - small world! Once on the ship, he grabbed me & said "Someone else from East is here!" (someone I didn't know) but I was still surprised and we took some Doylestown-crew pictures. Hopefully I'll get those from him soon.

Second - more celebrity encounters. They just keep getting better. The day after the cruise, I had a 12.5 hour-long shift which I wasn't looking forward to at all. They drove us about an hour away to Berkshire for an Audi Event - Polo & Dinner. When we got there, they told us that Prince William would be playing polo...!!!!!! Alright, so I'm a huge dork, but I felt all 13-year-old-girl gitty with that maybe-he'll-fall-in-love-with-me-and-I'll-become-royalty-or-something hope in the back of my mind... Not gonna lie. So the guests began arriving and various celebrities were sprinkled throughout the crowd - Jimmy Choo (famous shoe designer, super expensive shoes made even more popular from their frequent appearances on Sex & The City), Pharrell Williams!!! (One of the most popular/talented producers in the Hip-Hop world, also has some music of his own, and quite the looker), Lemar (apparently the Usher of Britain), and some actor from Love Actually who I didn't recognize cause I fell asleep while watching that movie (oops, regret that now). So my job for the reception/polo-viewing part of the day was to guard a door and ensure that guests knew where the "loos" are... I stood behind Pharrell for a good half-hour and watched socialites throw themselves at him in a very discreet mid-afternoon Polo match kind of way. I watched Prince William win a polo match and then accept a trophy... I served water to Lemar & cleared Jimmy Choo's half-eaten duck & bok choy... Haha, hilarious. Really though, for having to do such crap work with a college degree on my belt and plenty of "real-world" work experience on my resume, the celebrity sightings really make it all well worth it.

Anyways, I must get ready for dinner & drinks with the British boy, hopefully I can understand what he's saying through that thick thick accent... he now refers to me as "treacle" (According to a girl I work with, it's a term of endearment - the British equivalent of "sweetie" or "sugar"...) After that, I'm meeting up with the girls and going out dancing. Great Friday night planned... And to Ireland next week!

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

O M G!! I cant believe you saw Prince William AND Pharell all in the same day! (btw you forgot to mention our Denzel Washington sighting). My London-mission was to find Prince William, to jump him, and somehow convince him to make me princess. hahah i looked for him everywhere in London. oh well.

i liked Carling beer too so maybe we're just not British-refined. i don't think i mind though.

i forgot about the prostitutes and how marie yelled at me not to take their picture (because i was facinated and have never seen such blatant hookers before) and that their pimp was hiding in the bushes ready to punch me in the face. hahah

yeah the socialite life is really the way to go. we need to do more private beaching in Cannes soon. hahah

NYC could def use a restaurant like the do-it-yourself meat grilling place(including hot waiters...preferably not gay this time) or maybe NYC just needs you!!! :)
