Ha, okay so Courtney was the only feeling neglected but that's reason enough ;) And yea, I have plenty of free time, who am I kidding... :) This is a working holiday now isn't it?
Anyways, here I am, back in hot, sticky, un-air-conditioned London. Lovely. Ha, ok, priorities are fine and in order and I'm not unhappy to be here - just to confirm. Spent last week in the French Riviera though and it was 100% amazingness. Really fun to get to spend time with Steph Musso and her momma and her friend Marie who was so generous and let us stay with her and she even drove us to Monaco to see Monte Carlo and even to a private beach in Cannes. She also took us to a sweet restaurant where you order two types of meat and you cook it yourself... they serve you tiny little bite-size pieces of raw meat and you cook it on a heated stone that's set out in the middle of the table. It's "very French" she says, and it was very fun and delicious... possible new restaurant idea for NYC where I think it would fit in perfectly... New entrepreneurial ventures? What else... saw a topless woman within 5 minutes of arriving in Nice - they're everywhere! Running around, too, not simply sitting and sunning. Only on the beach though (phew). We also saw prostitutes not being very subtle on the street. Also got to witness the celebrations after France won the soccer game, much to everyone's dismay, earlier this week. Heard some good Euro dance music everyday too, particularly a song by Juanes called "A Dios Le Pido" which sounds like "Adios Libido" so clearly I love it and find it hilarious and catchy. Check it out. Everything was beautiful & photos (although they capture what I actually saw to a minimum) can be seen here:
I have to share some excerpts from text messages I've received from a boy I met last weekend. I had a hard time understanding what he was saying most of the time because his accent was so so strong, so I'm glad he's a serial texter, but I couldn't help but laughing out loud wildly at the British slang when I read these so I hope you will too:
-"Hello hows ur day been? Mines been crap workin in the pissin rain all day."
-"Wat u up to tday coz am still in London if you fancy doin somethin?"
-"I feel better thnx now Ive had a bath n got changed i sound like a crooky old man tho me voice has gone somewhere."
Ha, so British.
Did I mention how hotttt it is in my flat? And I have nothing to do today really, and no motivation to do anything since it's Sunday and I would prefer to avoid the packed streets and tourists everywhere. The highlight of my day was going out to get ice cream and sitting on a bench in partial shade to eat it. And buying a used copy of Bridget Jones's Diary which I'll watch tonight once I finish reading the book (I'm crazy huh?) I'd like to check out Soho, the Tate Modern museum, Abbey Road, and so on. Will save that for a weekday.... Haven't bought a fan yet since I couldn't justify spending $40 on the cheapest, crappiest one. This is dreadful.
